SUPPORT

Hello, this support area is to provide some steps to help you solve common problems that users of our site have been having.  Because of the volume of support emails that we have been receiving, we ask that you please try some of the self help steps listed here before submitting a support ticket.

 

I can't log on to the website.

  1. Have you filled out a logon request form?  You can fill out a logon request form by going to the "Members Only" area of our website, and clicking on the "I don't have a logon" link on the left side of the page.
  2. Did you receive a response email back from katiemaffeo@msn.com with your logon information?  For our swim team members security, all account requests have to be reviewed and verified by  the Website Manager.  As soon as the request for account has been approved, your account will be activated and an email will be sent to you.
  3. Did you type in the correct user name and password?  It is sometimes overlooked that your user name is your Last name and First initial, not simply just your last name.  Also, be careful with copying the user name or password out of your response email, as sometimes you also pick up a space or other character while copying.  I suggest you manually type them in by hand.
  4. I think that I may have forgotten my Login or Password. If you are certain that you had a Login in the past, but feel that you have forgotten either your Login or your Password, simply CLICK HERE and fill out the form.
  5. Did you log in without seeing any error, but you still don't see a black box in the upper right hand screen?  Some older browsers will log in, but not display the black box, and not redirect you to the members only area.  If you think this might be you simply click on the "Members Only" link again and see if any of the "Upcoming Meets" information is displayed and available to you.  If it is, then you are successfully logged in.
  6. Did you log in, but every time you click on a new page in Members Only, you get prompted for your logon again?  This is due to an incorrectly loaded DNS record and can be fixed relatively easy.  Simply follow these steps listed here.
  7. Do you have some kind of security software or borwser plugin that blocks Java?  Some security software like ZoneAlarm, NoScript, and Symantec Security Center block the use of Java in your browser's window.  This may result in an inability to log on to the website, or forms being blank once logged into the website.  Please white list www.EastSideSwimTeam.com or disable these applications while using our site.
  8. None of the above explain my situation, or none of the suggestions helped. I would like to submit a support ticket.  Please note that we will be working through support tickets on a first come first serve bases, and from now on direct emails will be refer back to this support page.  Also, please note that this support is supplied on a volunteer basis, and may take a few days to get a response back to you.  Submit a ticket here.

 

I'm not receiving emails from the News Flash section of the website.

1.   My email is provided by AOL, Road Runner or Verizon.  These email providers,   are requesting a higher level of email sender  erification than most.  We have made the recommended changes to our mailing system required by these  providers.  If you are still having an issue after Oct 8th, please contact your email provider for further assistance.

2. I have confirmed my email address is correct with Katie Maffeo.  If not simply, fill out this form for confirmation.

3. I have looked for emails from Website@EastSideSwimTeam.com in my Junk and/or Spam folders of my mail client.  If you should find that your email client is marking these emails as Junk or Spam, please follow your clients directions to add this email address to your clients white list.

4. My email system can only receive emails from addresses in my contact list.  Please add Website@EastSideSwimTeam.com as a new contact.

5. I have recently changed email addresses.  We can change your email address for News Flash emailings here.

6. I have not subscribed to receive updates to the News Flash Page. For directions on how to subscribe to the News Flash page to receive updates, please click HERE. 

7. I have done all of the above, and I'm still not receiveing emails.  Unfortunately, email is a very old form of communication, and has been abused in the past for advertising.  The general protocols that move email across the internet have not changed much since it was created.  Some email providers have taken extream steps to prevent their users from receiving SPAM.  Unfortunately, some of these steps can also filter out good emails.  While we can try to do what we can to conform to your email providers standards, some email providers may never work correctly with our website.  If you fall into this area, I recommend that you get another email provider like GMail.com or consider receiving these notifications using another method like RSS.  If you do decide to change your email address, please let us know using this form.  If you would like to try receiving notificaiton using RSS, you can add the following URL into your feed reader's list.

I've been told to clear my browser cache.

From Internet Explorer, go to Tools > Internet Options > Delete Files -- then select "Delete All Offline Content", and click OK.

From Firefox, this option is in Tools > Clear Private Data and select "Cache".

From Safari, click the "Safari" menu, the select "Empty Cache".
